Erick J. Szot is an American film and television actor, producer and director. Born in Miami, Florida and raised to Puerto Rican and Polish parents. He worked in retail management and business management for almost twenty years before pursuing his acting passion at the age of 38. He has starred in many independent films, has done background, extra and stand in work for major network shows such as Ballers, Burn Notice, American Crime Story and major motion pictures like Alvin and the Chipmunks 4 and Baywatch.
In 2018, Erick created Captain Entertainment Company, in order to highlight and promote the Florida film industry. He is currently starring and first time creator, producer and Showrunner of the multi-award winning comedy series "Gym Shorts", the series he created with long-time friend JJ Duffy and the first project of Captain Entertainment. Expanding on the gym world he created, Erick is also managing the GymShorties TV YouTube channel and developing a network series gym concept, "In The Gym".
JJ Duffy is a film and TV actor, writer, and producer, whose first TV appearance was in a Safeway commercial at the age of 4. As an adult, JJ has built a resume of work that includes acting, writing, and producing several commercials, sketch comedies, web series, and independent films.
Seen in a role opposite Leigh-Allyn Baker in the Netflix movie Swiped, JJ has been seen on Lifetime TV, The Discovery Channel, Nat Geo, as well as several indie shorts, sketches and films, nabbing a Best Actor Nomination for his portrayal of Leonard Rothman, the Lead in Tony Larkin’s Indie Suspense Thriller feature film, The Eccentric World of Baron Styles.
JJ’s writing career started with a handful of nationally published “daddy” blogs, and has grown to include a multitude of sketches, scripts, pilots, and screenplays, mostly sticking to the comedy genre. He contributes to the LA based script analysis group, Voices on Paper on a weekly basis.
He has produced several sketch comedies, a few commercials, and a successful full length documentary “Finding Life” available on Amazon Prime.
JJ was inspired to create a sketch one day after he and long-time friend Erick Szot had gone to the gym. That sketch turned into a scene, which eventually blossomed into that hilarious Gym Shorts Comedy it is today.
Captain Entertainment Co, since day 1, was founded on the principles of highlighting the talented Florida film market. They are always looking to collaborate with other hard working like minded production companies and individuals.
Alexandra Bello Productions LLC is one of the first companies that was a partner with the
"Gym Shorts" brand and has been a partner behind the scenes in many different capacities
